Jamestown is a city in Stutsman County, North Dakota in the United States. It is the county seat of Stutsman County . The population is 14,813 as of 2006, making it the seventh largest city in North Dakota. Jamestown was founded in 1872.
On the south side of the city sits the North Dakota State Hospital. This hospital treats patients with psychiatric disorders, as well as serving as the state's holding facility for dangerously mentally-ill inmates.
